LWC Women's Basketball in IU East Classic Fri/Sat

The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team hits the road to face Aquinas (MI) on Friday at 3pmCT and Madonna (MI) on Saturday at 1pmCT in the IU East Classic in Richmond, Indiana.

The Blue Raider women's basketball team defeated Florida National by a final score of 89-43 on Monday, October 28th at Biggers Sports Center.



In the matchup against the Conquistadors, the Blue Raiders were led on offense by junior guard Reagan Turner, who tallied 18 points, four steals, and three rebounds in 19 minutes of action. Behind Turner, senior forward DeAsia Outlaw recorded 14 points while also chipping in four steals and three rebounds of her own. In her first game as a Blue Raider, junior guard Haeli Howard notched 13 points and three assists in a team-high 24 minutes of action. Lindsey Wilson shot 44.9% from the field, while limiting Florida National to 26.7% shooting from the field.

The Aquinas women's basketball team comes into the Friday afternoon matchup with the Blue Raiders with a 1-1 record after falling in their last game to Indiana Wesleyan 66-54 on October 28th.

This season, sophomore guard Daz'Sha Day leads the Saints averaging 11.5 points per game. Day recorded a season-high 16 points in a 46-43 victory over Goshen (Ind.) on October 23rd. Senior guard Camaryia Williams leads Aquinas averaging 10.5 rebounds per game and 3 steals per game. Williams garnered a team-high in rebounds (12) and steals (4) in the win over Goshen. As a team, the Saints are averaging 50 points per game while shooting 31.9% from the field.

The Madonna women's basketball team faces IU East on Friday afternoon before meeting up with Lindsey Wilson on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. The Crusaders sit at 0-1 on the season after a 76-52 defeat to Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) on October 26th.

The Crusaders have seen a heavy workload from senior guard Sydney Brown, who played 34 minutes and recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in the lone loss to the Cougars. With her 25 point outing, Brown currently ranks sixth in the NAIA Division II in points per game. Madonna struggled shooting in their one game this season, shooting 33.9% from the field and 23.1% from behind the arc. Despite limiting Mount Vernon Nazarene to shooting just 39.2% from the field, the Crusaders were outrebounded by five and committed 10 more turnovers than the Cougars.

Live video and stats will be available for both games. The Blue Raiders are set to take on Aquinas on Friday at 3 p.m. CT, followed by Madonna at 1pmCT on Saturday in Richmond, IN.
