LWC Soccer hosts Cumberlands Sunday afternoon

The No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team and the No. 5-ranked Men's Soccer team returns to Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY, on Sunday afternoon to take on Cumberlands (KY) in a Mid-South Conference battle beginning at 2pmCT with the men's matchup, followed by the women's matchup at 4:30pmCT.



The Blue Raiders women's soccer team (10-3-1, 6-0-0 MSC) returns to the field after a 4-2 victory on the road against Life (Ga.) on October 22nd.

Sophomore forward Sina Cavelti serves as the anchor for the Lindsey Wilson offense, leading the team with 11 goals, 27 points, 59 total shots, and 28 shots on goal. Cavelti currently averages 1.93 points per match, which ranks first in the Mid-South Conference. Senior midfielder Emilie Liljered has notched nine goals and two assists this season and sits behind Cavelti with 20 points for the Blue Raiders. Sophomore midfielder Thea Birgerud holds the team lead with seven assists and has recorded a goal and an assist in three of the last four matches. On defense, Junior goalkeeper Eveljn Frigotto has 63 saves on the season, which sits fourth-best in the Mid-South Conference.

The No. 18-ranked Cumberlands women's soccer team (10-1-1, 5-0-0 MSC) returns to action after defeating No. 19-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) 2-1 in overtime on the road October 20th.

The Patriots currently sit on a six-match winning streak, while only allowing six total goals on defense this season. In her freshman season, midfielder Naira Lopez has amassed eight goals and two assists for a team-high 18 points this season. Junior midfielder Shara Randez has three goals and a team-high six assists this season, while also leading Cumberlands in total shots (57) and shots on goal (28). Freshman goalkeeper Nicole Panis has tallied 36 saves and five shutout victories this season.

The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (9-3-0, 5-1-0 MSC) returns to the field Sunday after falling to Life 1-0 on the road October 22nd.

This season, senior forward Akean Shackleford ranks third in the NAIA in both shots per match (5.50) and shots-on-goal per match (2.90). The offensive trio of Shackleford, freshman midfielder Oscar Dueso, and senior midfielder Bruno Henrique have combined for 70 of the teams 113 points this season. On defense, junior goalkeeper David Coffey has tallied 39 saves and four shutout victories en route to a 7-1-0 overall record this season.

The Cumberlands men's soccer team (7-5-1, 3-2-0 MSC) comes into Sunday's match after being defeated by Cumberland 3-1 on October 20th.

The Patriots are led on offense by senior forward Marvin van der Made, who has a comfortable team lead in goals (10), assists (8), points (28), shots (56) and shots on goal (28). Van der Made has also recorded a hat-trick in two matches this season for Cumberlands. On defense, freshman goalkeeper Akililu Zambataro has notched 39 saves and five shutout victories while ranking third in the Mid-South Conference with a 1.07 goals against average

Live video and live stats will be available for both matches. The men's match is scheduled to begin at 2pmCT while the women's match is scheduled to begin at 4:30pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
