LWC Volleyball hosts Cumberland Thursday on Senior Night

The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team hosts Cumberland (TN) for senior night on Thursday, October 24 at 6:30pmCT in Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.

Prior to the first serve, seniors Elly Burke and Camila Leite are going to be honored.



The Blue Raiders (22-5, 10-2) return to Mid-South Conference play after competing in the Columbia College Fall Classic this past Friday and Saturday. Lindsey Wilson went 3-1 on the weekend, sweeping Ottawa (KS), William Woods (MO), and then No. 6-ranked Park (Mo.) in three-sets and falling to host then No. 9-ranked Columbia (Mo.) in five-sets.

Over the weekend the Blue Raiders posted a team hitting percentage of .234. Kasia Niderla led the team with 58 kills, while Alexis Smith posted 50 of her own. Lauren Larzelere recorded 54 digs. Camryn Rich managed 43 digs while also recording 144 assists. Peyton Johnston and Elly Burke each tallied eight service aces.

With their performances over the weekend, Niderla and Rich earned MSC Attacker of the week and MSC Setter of the week honors, respectively.

The Blue Raiders continue to lead the Mid-South Conference in hitting percentage with .232. Niderla still leads the NAIA in hitting percentage (.420) while leading the MSC in total kills with 402. Larzelere's 381 digs rank sixth in the conference in total digs.

Cumberland (18-10, 7-4 MSC) is back in action after falling to Campbellsville (Ky.) Tuesday in a five-set battle. Masa Nalovic and Mikayla Wickham lead the Phoenix attack this season with 284 and 283 kills, respectively. Victoria Johnson paces the offense with 542 assists. Sadie Edmonston leads Cumberland with 444 digs, which sits fifth-best in the conference.

The Blue Raiders and the Phoenix met earlier in the season on September 19 which resulted in a five-set victory for Lindsey Wilson.
