LWC Football battles Thomas More on the road Saturday

The No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team hits the road to face Thomas More (Ky.) in a Mid-South Conference matchup with kickoff set for 12:30pmCT on Saturday in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Blue Raiders and the Saints meet for the first time in each program's history.

The Blue Raiders (6-0, 3-0 MSC) come into tomorrow's game undefeated after defeating Cumberland (Tenn.) 48-6 at home on October 12th.



On offense, junior quarterback Cameron Dukes comes into the game leading the Mid-South Conference in five different categories: total offense (1,679), total offensive yards per game (279.8), total passing yards (1,545), pass efficiency (177.6) and passing touchdowns (21). Senior wide receiver Jay Gaudlock sits as Duke's top target this season, catching 31 passes for 428 yards and six touchdowns this season. Junior running back Jaylen Boyd comes in as the top rusher for Lindsey Wilson, rushing 59 times for 461 yards and four touchdowns this season.

The Lindsey Wilson defense comes into the matchup holding their opponents to just 14.2 points per game, which is second-best in the Mid-South Conference. Sophomore linebacker Luke Bowman leads the Blue Raiders in solo tackles (22), assisted tackles (25), and total tackles (47). Senior linebacker Stevie Miller leads Lindsey Wilson with eight and a half tackles for loss, while senior James Todd, junior Mark Pruitt, and freshman Marcellus Campbell each lead the way with two interceptions this season.

Thomas More (3-3, 1-1 MSC) returns home for their matchup with Lindsey Wilson after defeating Campbellsville (Ky.) 31-28 in a Mid-South Conference battle on the road on October 12th.

Senior quarterback Justin Post has thrown for 1,496 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions this year for the Saints. In a 54-49 game one defeat to Kentucky Christian, Post threw for 436 passing yards which is the most passing yards in a single game by a Mid-South Conference player so far this season. Senior wide receiver Mitchell Hogue leads Thomas More with 34 receptions this season, while senior Da'marco Canty has a team-high 452 receiving yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, junior running back Monalo Caldwell has rushed 119 times accumulating 563 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

The Thomas More defense comes into the game with Lindsey Wilson allowing 28.8 points per game and 418.5 yards per game. Sophomore linebacker Peyton Van Horn anchors the Saints defense, leading the team with 38 solo, 20 assisted, and 58 total tackles this season. Seven Thomas More defenders have recorded an interception, with sophomore safety Ky Jones leading the team with two.
