LWC Men's Swimming falls in matchup with Cumberlands

The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team was defeated in a head-to-head matchup against Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday afternoon at the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center. The Blue Raiders scored a total of 95 points, while Cumberlands scored 161 points in the winning effort.

The Blue Raiders were victorious in four events against the Patriots, beginning with Reece Kincaid winning the 200-yard butterfly with a B-cut standard time of two minutes and 45 seconds. James de Goede was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle with another B-cut standard time of 49.44. William Thilwind claimed victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.19. The final Lindsey Wilson top finish came with Kincaid winning the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:03.51.



In the 200-yard medley relay, the quartet of Thilwind, Bryce Rice, Kincaid, and de Goede finished in second place at an A-cut pace of 1:38.16. The quartet of Michael Peck, Tyler Glish, Connor Barton, and Jordan Schaeffer also received a national A-cut standard in the race with a time of 1:47.92.

De Goede recorded a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke for another A-cut time of 54.01 for the Blue Raiders. Ron Wolfart notched a national B-cut standard time in the 100-yard breaststroke with a third place finish of 1:00.94. Another national B-Cut standard came for Lindsey Wilson when Kincaid finished in second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.13. The quartet of Ricky Dungan, Schaeffer, Tyler King, and Wolfart finished in second place for an A-cut in the 200-yard freestyle relay 1:29.57.

The Blue Raiders men's swimming team will be back in action Friday, October 11 to take on No. 10-ranked Asbury (Ky.) at 5pmCT at the Doris and Bob Holloway Wellness Center.
