Get ready for the second annual Old West Festival FOLKLORE OF THE OLD WEST is the name of the second annual Columbia-Adair County festival coming up the first week of June. For a complete rundown of the schedule, read on . . . FRIDAY night, June 6th we will have a country band and a Fiddlin & Pickin Contest with $1800.00 in prize money. SATURDAY, June 7th will feature the popular RE-ENACTMENT OF THE "JAMES-YOUNGER GANG" ROBBERY of the Bank of Columbia which happened on April 29th in the year 1872. It will be presented and Coordinated by The Guntown Mountain Actors and Friends on June 7th at approximately 4:30 p.m. and again at about 5:30 p.m. Join the good people of Columbia and Adair County, Kentucky as we step back in time to watch a bit of history. See the Jesse James and Cole Younger Gang make their way into Columbia as they did long ago. Watch as they rob the Bank of Columbia, despite the much heralded heroic efforts of bank cashier R.A.C. Also on the very full schedule Saturday, we have Arts & Crafts Show, Bar-B-Q, quilt shows, Pony rides, children's train rides, knife swap, Bluegrass bands, High Noon Wedding, Best Western Outfit Contest, Stick Horse Stampede, Baby pageant, Western horse parade & competition, traveling, Magic show, Antique tractors, Quick Draw Contest, Best Little Buckaroo Contest, and more.
