Hoover won't seek reelection Representative Jeff Hoover (R-Jamestown) has announced that he won't seek reelection next year. According to multiple news articles, the former Kentucky House Speaker plans to focus on his law practice instead. Hoover, who has represented the 83rd district since 1996, became the first Republican Speaker of the House in Kentucky in nearly 100 years when he took over the post after the 2016 election.
