LWC volleyball travels to Georgetown for MSC play

The No. 10-ranked volleyball team travels to Georgetown (Ky.) to continue Mid-South Conference play Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6pmCT in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym, E College St, Georgetown, KY.

Lindsey Wilson (13-3, 5-1 MSC) is back in action after a three-set sweep of MSC foe Campbellsville (Ky.) last Tuesday in Biggers Sports Center. Alexis Smith and Kasia Niderla led the team offensively, combining for 25 of the team's 41 kills. The Blue Raiders showed consistency and were able to record a .330 hitting percentage while holding the Tigers to just .162.


Lindsey Wilson's offensive charge is led by Niderla with 231 kills and the best hitting percentage in the NAIA (.438). Autumn Proctor paces the offense from the setting position with her 344 assists.

The Blue Raider defense has held opponents to a hitting percentage average of .138. The trio of Peyton Johnston, Lauren Larzelere, and Elly Burke each average more than three digs per set creating a balanced and successful defensive effort. Niderla also has a defensive presence, ranking fourth in blocks per set in the MSC (1.0).

Georgetown (11-9, 4-2 MSC) enters Tuesday's match after winning a five-set thriller against Cumberland (Tenn.) on Saturday. Samantha Lincoln tallied 30 digs in the win while Sarah Snyder and McKala Bozman led the offense with 16 and 13 kills, respectively.

The Tigers offense has five players with triple-digit kills, led by Madison Mudd with 177. Brianna Cathers ranks third in total assists in the MSC with 610 and Lincoln also ranks third in the conference in digs with 363. Bozman has produced 78 blocks, ranking second in the MSC.

This is the 47th meeting between the two programs. Georgetown leads the series 27-19 but has not won since 2016.
