Wojcik tied for First in East TN Collegiate

By Christopher Coombs

The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team carded a 304 in their first round of the East Tennessee Collegiate to sit just eight strokes off the lead. Zofia Wojcik fired one of the low-round of the day as she turned in a 1-under par 71 to sit in a two-way tie for first with Milligan's (Tenn.) Nellie Berglund.

Wojcik fired 15 pars on her round while managing two birdies on the front nine with just one blemish - a bogey -- on her final hole of the day on the par-four 18th.

Milligan is in first place after scoring a 296 at the Johnson City Country Club, a par-72, 5,872-yard design.

Dacie Bolton and Claire McLaughlin each shot five-over-par 77's to finish their rounds in a tie for 10th place. Tara Rodenhurst finished her round in a tie for 17th after firing a 79 while Megan Mann is just behind in a tie for 21st with an 80 stroke round.

Katie Biddlecome played as an individual at the event where she carded an 81 to finish in a tie for 25th.

The Blue Raiders wrap up play tomorrow morning with their final round at the Johnson City Country Club, 1901 E Unaka Ave, Johnson City, TN.
