LWC Women's Swimming Completes Day 1 of LWC Fall Frenzy By Grace Blomstedt The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team kicked off their 2019-20 season with the opening day of the LWC Fall Frenzy on Friday evening at the Holloway Natatorium. The Blue Raider women currently sit in third place with 209 points, trailing to second-place Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) with 303 points and first-place Indiana Wesleyan with 316 points. Sitting behind the Blue Raiders are Bethel (Tenn.) with 126 points and Campbellsville (Ky.) with 81 points. The Blue Raiders are back in action Saturday morning at 9amCT with session two, followed by the final session beginning at 4:30pmCT at the Holloway Natatorium in the Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 399 Williams St., Columbia, KY. In the women's 200-yard freestyle relay the quartet of Annissa Koekemoer, Nissrine Bourbouh, Carlene Taylor, and Jessica Macdonald placed second with an A-cut standard time of 1:43.31. The Blue Raider foursome of Jaye Farthing, Hailey Russo, Narjiss Bourbouh, and Sarah Hahn also recorded an A-cut time (1:49.87). The group of Hahn, Taylor, Narjiss Bourbouh and Macdonald swam a national A standard of 4:11.54 in the 400-yard medley relay to get second-place. The quartet of Koekemoer, Farthing, Nissrine Bourbouh, and Sarah Lawson finished with an A-cut standard time of 4:38.28. Senior Macdonald captured first place in the 200-yard individual medley and received her A-cut standard with a time of 2:13.28. Narjiss Bourbouh swam a 2:22.82 to earn fifth-place. Hahn also competed in the event finishing in ninth-place. Taylor earned an A-cut in the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall in 25.57 for a second-place finish. Koekemoer placed fifth with a B-cut standard time of 25.99. Nissrine Bourbouh and Farthing placed 14th and 18th, respectively, out of 33 competitors. Emma Phillips led the Blue Raiders in the 500-yard freestyle with a 10th place finish. The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's teams combined for 464 total team points during the first day, finishing in second place behind leader Olivet Nazarene with 613 total points.
