LWC Women's golf finishes fourth at Carey Collegiate Fall Classic By Christopher Coombs Hattiesburg, MS - The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team shot a 299 on the final day of competition at the Carey Collegiate Fall Classic to finish in fourth place. The Blue Raiders combined to shoot a 603 (304-299) at the par-72, 5,920-yard Canebrake Country Club. The Blue Raiders narrowly missed a tie for second place as Dalton State (Ga.) and Mid-South Conference competitor Cumberland (Tenn.) finished the two-round tournament with a score of 600. Cumberlands (Ky.), also of the MSC, finished in first place with 593 (302-291) strokes. Dacie Bolton finished in a four-way tie for seventh place with a 147 (75-72). She carded four birdies and four bogeys on her round to shoot an even-par 72 on the final day of competition. Her lowest score this season. Claire McLaughlin produced the Blue Raiders lowest round of the day - a career-best -- with a 1-under par 71. The freshman recorded a 148 (77-71) to finish alone in 11th place. She battled the front nine to a 1-under par score as she recorded four birdies, adding one more on the back-nine to give her five on the round. Zofia Wojcik finished in a tie for 19th after posting a 154 (77-77) while Tara Rodenhurst matched her efforts carding a 154 (75-79). Megan Mann also competed for Lindsey Wilson as she produced a 165 (83-82) two day total to finish in a tie for 39th. Katie Biddlecome competed as an individual and carded a 170 (87-83). Papatsara Niamrungreang of William Carey (Miss.), Isabel Rijos of Dalton State and Carlee Shoemaker of Cumberlands finished regulation in a tie for first place after turning in 1-under par 143's. Lindsey Wilson takes to the course again on Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 when they compete in the East Tennessee Collegiate in Johnson City, Tennessee at the Johnson City Country Club.
