LWC volleyball continues MSC play on the road

The No. 9-ranked volleyball team continues Mid-South Conference play on the road against Cumberlands (KY) at 6pmCT at the UC Volleyball Gym, 6178 College Station Drive, Williamsburg, KY.

The Blue Raiders (8-2, 2-0 MSC) are back in action after last week's three-set sweeps of conference opponents Shawnee State and Pikeville.



Lindsey Wilson hit .338 in last week's matches improving their hitting percentage to .234. They now rank thirteenth nationally. The Blue Raiders offense is led by freshman Kasia Niderla who has accumulated 135 kills and leads the NAIA in hitting efficiency with .435. Peyton Johnston leads the defensive effort with 4.71 digs per set.

The Patriots (8-3, 0-1 MSC) are coming off a five-set loss to Cumberland (Tenn.) last Wednesday. Cumberlands currently ranks sixth in total blocks (116.5), but in the loss, UC recorded only six. Leah Crist ranks fourth in total blocks (66) to lead the team's blocking effort. Abbie Genders paces the Patriots offense with 120 kills on 289 attempts.

Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series against Cumberlands 29-11.
