CPD: Contraband Charge made in Adair Regional Jail By Officer Adam Cravens On Thursday, September 5, 2019, the Columbia Police were asked to come to the Adair Regional Jail after contraband was discovered on a recently booked inmate. The inmate was brought in on active warrants by Burksville Police and when searched by jail staff was found to have two clear baggies with a powder substance concealed on his person. Contents of the baggies were field tested positive for methamphetamine. John Carter, 28, of Burksville was charged with promoting contraband and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine.
