No. 6 LWC Women's Soccer Travels to No. 1 William Carey By Brady Budke The No. 6 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team will hit the road to face No. 1 William Carey (MS) at 7pmCT on Monday at Crusader Field, 710 William Carey Parkway, Hattiesburg, MS. The Blue Raiders (2-0-0) return to play after a 1-0 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio). Lindsey Wilson put heavy pressure on the Cougar defense, producing 20 shots on the night with seven of them being on goal. Blue Raider goalkeeper Eveljn Frigotto also had a big game, as she recorded seven saves in her first shutout of the season. Flavia Laich netted her first goal of the season in the match, with Alicia Thoresen assisting. The Blue Raiders now have three players with goals this season. William Carey (3-0-0) has jumped out to a fast start this season, netting 11 goals as a team and having completed three straight shutouts. Itzayanna Gracia has scored a goal in every game this season for the Lady Crusaders, while goalkeeper Sabrina Lang has four saves and three shutouts to her credit. The Lady Crusaders are currently on an eight-match winning streak dating back to last season, which ended in being crowned NAIA national champions. Mondays match will be the 16th meeting all-time between the two programs, with William Carey leading the series 8-6-1. Live stats will be available for the match.
