V.D. Tucker, 84, Russell Springs, KY (1935-2019)

V.D. Tucker of Russell Springs, died Friday, August 23 at his residence. He was 84 years old.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 1pmCT at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 E. Steve Wariner Dr., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bobby Cole officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery, Hwy. 910, Russell Springs.

Visitation for V.D. Tucker will be Monday, August 26 from 5pmCT to 8pmCT at Wilson Funeral Home.


He was born March 12, 1935 in Russell County to the late Delmer and Dona Tucker. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Edora Tucker and a sister, Frances Houston.

He was a carpenter and built 80 homes in Russell County from 1958 to 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Katrina (Terry) Thompson of Crestwood, KY, and Karen Collier of Owensboro, KY; one son Greg Tucker (Pamela Christian) of Russell Springs. Three sisters, Chestina (Junior) Shepard of Russell Springs, Loueda Taylor of Russell Springs, and Shirlyn (Bobby) Wilson of Russell Springs: two brothers, Kenimer Tucker of Zanesville, Ohio and Eddie Tucker of Indianapolis, Indiana. Five grandchildren, Adam Tucker of Russell Springs, Tabitha (Matt) Green of Russell Springs, Jared Collier of Owensboro, KY, Lindsey and Brett Thompson of Crestwood, KY; and three great-grandchildren Kierra Peterson, Cody Murray Jr. and Gracelyn Green of Russell Springs.

The family requests memorials be made to the Kevin Williams "Kevin's Kid's" Program to benefit the children of Russell County. These can be at the funeral home or mailed to Russell Springs First Baptist Church, B.O. Box 1477, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
