Old High School Commemorative Plate on eBay Ann Heskamp Curtis writes: I just thought I'd tell you about a china plate with a handpainted picture of the old Columbia High School that's being auctioned on eBay. Maybe you know someone who'd like to buy it. Seems like someone in Columbia would be interested in bringing it back home. My mother has one just like it, or I would bid on it. We figure it was probably done in the 1920s-1930s. It would have been before the gymasium was built in 1935, because it's not included in the painting. Just go to eBay and search under "Columbia Ky." (or Columbia, Kentucky?) There's also a postcard of the school and a receipt from Davis Hardware available for auction! We did the search at eBay, and found the auction here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2165598054&category=4036. The auction is set to end Mar-26-03 18:44:43 PST, and there aren't any bids yet as of this posting. Update 2003-03-30: the auction ended with a high bid of 30.00, for those of you keeping score. Here are the links for the litho, which ends this morning, and the Davis Hardware receipt. This story was posted on 2003-03-21 06:33:35
