Kentucky is number one - in the nation - in child abuse By Linda Waggener The saddest news I heard this week is that the state of Kentucky is the top in the nation in child abuse according to Courier Journal reporter Deborah Yetter who has researched statistics and written a five-part series on the subject. I didn't trust a passing comment on television news, even educational television, so I dug a bit and there it was - Kentucky, the most violent state to children. Indiana right behind in second place. Here. In the Bible Belt. This is one statistic that we can change. If you see something and feel called to say something, a Child Help number to confidentially report suspected child maltreatment in America is 1.800.422.4453. Or just call 911.
