LWC Men's Soccer announces 2019 schedule By Chris Coombs Lindsey Wilson men's soccer head coach Ray Wells announced the schedule for the upcoming 2019 season on Friday. An almost even split of home and away matches make up this season's regular-season slate as the Blue Raiders will play six of their 13 games at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The season kicks off on Aug. 31 in Pensacola, Florida, as the Blue Raiders take on West Florida. Lindsey Wilson hosts Spring Arbor (Mich.) in their 2019 home opener on Sept. 7. Last season the Cougars were national tournament qualifiers and were ranked No. 10 in the 2018 postseason poll. The Blue Raiders continue their homestand on Sept. 12 when they welcome John Brown (Ark.) to Columbia. Lindsey Wilson is on the road for a two-game swing in Lawrenceville, Georgia., as the Blue Raiders battle Mobile (Ala.) on Sept. 20, followed two days later by a matchup against Keiser (Fla.) on Sept. 22. Up next for the Blue Raiders is Mid-South Conference action. LWC opens conference play on the road against Georgetown (Ky.) on Oct. 2 before their MSC home opener on Oct. 5 against Thomas More (Ky.). The Saints join the conference for their first season in 2019. Lindsey Wilson then travels to Portsmouth, Ohio to take on Shawnee State (Ohio) on Oct. 8th. A two-game homestand then welcomes the Blue Raiders back to Walter S. Reuling Stadium as they compete against Pikeville (Ky.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) on Oct. 11 and 15, respectively. Lindsey Wilson travels to Life (Ga.) on Oct. 22 before returning home for their final homestand of the regular season. The Blue Raiders take on Cumberlands (Ky.) on Oct 26 at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The regular season concludes on Oct. 30, as the Blue Raiders hit the road an take on Campbellsville (Ky.). Lindsey Wilson is 30-2-2 all-time in the Battle of Highway 55. Postseason play is scheduled to begin on Nov. 8 with the Mid-South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals in Bowling Green, Ky. The semi-finals and finals are scheduled for Nov. 14-15 in Bowling Green. The NAIA National Championship Opening Round games are slated for Nov. 23 at host campus locations.
