Letter: It's time to bury the power lines

Cosmetics! The power lines! Linda I know I'm beating a dead horse, but just look at this photo, what a difference underground lines on the square would make! Stanford did it, Greensburg did it, why not Columbia? --Steve

Power line contrast most visible here

Many will agree with Steve Coomer's point, it's time for Columbia to bury power lines. Nowhere in town is the contrast more visible than here on Lindsey Wilson Street. From the top of the hill at the main entry to the campus, power lines go underground, allowing the beauty of the school to shine through.
