Tell the weatherman it's seven days

By Linda Waggener

Dr. Roger Dale Smith was observing Weatherman Chris Allen this morning when he said if it rained in the Channel 13 viewing area today it would mark the longest number of days between rains since back in November.

It's raining with thunderstorms in our area now, mid-afternoon, Tuesday, July 20, 2019.

Heavy rains and thunderstorm rolling over the area

2019-07-30 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Huge raindrops fell over Adair County in the middle of the afternoon today, July 30, 2019, as thunderstorms rolled past and the sun was shining through the gray clouds. This view is of the Columbia Sav A Lot parking area, looking out toward Bryant Realty. I asked a shopper what it meant when the sun was shining and it was raining at the same time? She said her family always said when that happened it meant the devil was beating his wife. Now there's something to ponder. Again in the early evening rain and thunderstorms are passing over. Drive safely tonight! - LW
