Ruth Cravens, 75, Casey County, KY (1943-2019) Ruth Jasper Cravens, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. She was 76. The funeral will be held at 2pmCT/2pmET on Friday, July 12, 2019 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12noonET until the service starts. Born on February 9, 1943, in Mintonville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Kiah and Alberta Wilson Jasper. Ruth worked at Casey County Hospital in Environmental Services. At a young age, Ruth accepted Christ as her savior at Carter Ridge Baptist Church. She was a member of Watson's Chapel Christian Church and also attended Cornerstone Baptist Church until her health prevented attendance. Her faith was deep and enduring. She is survived by a daughter, Gloria C. Hammond of Nancy; a son, Gilbert D. (Sandy) Cravens of Liberty; and two grandchildren, MaKayla and Cathleen. Other survivors include three great-grandchildren; four nephews; a niece; and a sister in law, Margaret Jasper of Nancy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wallace; a brother, Elza Jasper; and four infant siblings.
