Rufus Claude Crow, Jr, Green County, KY (1940-2019) Rufus Claude Crow, Jr departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2019. He was 78 years of age. Cremation was chosen. Graveside serves will be conducted at 9amCT Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Greensburg Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. He was the son of the late Rufus Crow and Mary Elizabeth Hickerson Crow, born on October 15, 1940 in Elaine, Arkansas, and He enjoyed his early years growing up on the family cotton farm in Elaine, Arkansas with all his family and friends. At the age of 15 he went off to Castle Height Military Academy to complete his high school years. He was accepted into the United States Military Academy at West Point (Army) and graduated with the class of 1962. Enjoying the physical challenge of the military, he joined the Rangers. When it was time to serve, he was assigned to military advisory command Vietnam team 39. Achieving the rank of Captain after five years of combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star for valor. After the military, he earned a Masters in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology and worked as a manufacturing engineering executive for many years. Rufus loved God and His word. He taught the "Read Through the Bible in One Year- Daily Bible" for over 25 years. His life was a reflection of how he signed off on every email: "To God alone be the Glory". He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Judy Howell Crow, having united in marriage on March 23, 1963. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Leslie and Alan Hines, Lara and Darren Demaree; a son and daughter-in-law: Rufus III and Roxana Crow; seven grandchildren: Paige, Dana, Sara, Katherine, Renee, Rufus IV, and Ella; one great-grandchild: Ryker; two sisters: Elizabeth "Libby" Crow and Mary Virginia Horne. Mr. Crow was also preceded in death by a brother: John Dale Crow. The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
