PVA Office more user friendly after renovations Recent Renovations Make PVA Office More User Friendly, All without Use of County Funds By Tiffany Kessler Adair County's Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) Landon Edwards could not be more proud of the recent renovations done within his office. Located inside the Courthouse Annex Building on the square, the office layout has become known as being one of the more cramped spaces within the bustling location. "Basically we weren't able to wait on multiple people at one time," Edwards said. "A lot of people come in on their rush hour or are on their way to pick up a child and didn't have time to wait. The changes done will keep things flowing at a much quicker pace." Edwards described the beginning process, "The first thing we did was take out the large wall in the entry space which opened everything up." The entire area was repainted, new counters were installed, and a more durable flooring was laid. A back room was used as a filing area for hard copies while two public computers and desks were set in a more accessible spot. All of this was done without using county funds. "Basically, we are budgeted a certain amount of dollars each year from the state and it's left to the PVA to decide what they need it to be used for," Edwards explained. Having served as a Deputy PVA for a number of years, Edwards was able to slowly save up enough to complete all the office renovations at one time. Edwards says that he and his staff are overjoyed with the changes. "We love it because it gives us more room and the public can see us as soon as they enter the door." "It looks so different in here," he added, "that some visitors have come inside and thought they entered the wrong office." The public is invited anytime to stop in and view the changes.
