Evelyn Lawhorn Bunch, 81, Columbia, KY native (1937-2019)

She was a kind and gentle spirit that raised a loving and close family.

Evelyn Lawhorn Bunch of New Hill, NC and formerly of Columbia, KY died Friday, June 28, 2019 at the daughter's residence in New Hill, NC. She was 81 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 11amCT on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jimmy Bunch, Bro. Steve Bunch and Bro. David Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in the Hadley Cemetery at Fairplay.

Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT on Tuesday at the funeral home.


Born September 10, 1937, in Columbia, KY she was the daughter of the late Chester and Elsie Burton Lawhorn and wife of the late Rufus Bunch, Jr.

Mrs. Bunch was a member of the Glensfork Community Church. She loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind and gentle spirit that raised a loving and close family.

Survivors include a daughter Rhonda Hardee (Glen) of New Hill, NC; five sons Bro. Jimmy Bunch (Barbara) of Columbia, Bro. Steve Bunch (Barbara) of Russell Springs, KY, Bro. David Bunch (Joyce) of Rougemont, NC, Doug Bunch (Delena) of Columbia and Doyle Bunch (Darlene) of Columbia; two brothers Ray and Raymond Lawhorn both of Columbia; a sister Bertha Marr of Campbellsville, KY; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons J. Harold Bunch and Larry Wayne Bunch, two brothers Ores and Randall Lawhorn, three sisters Eula Loy, Louise Furkin and Martha Ellen Lawhorn, a granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Bunch and two great grandchildren Kaine and Kadence Bunch.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bunch, Dylon Bunch, Dalton Miller, Chris Bunch, Douglas Bunch and Trevor Johnson.
