Senator Wise named to Public Assistance Reform task force By Noah Lucas Frankfort, KY - The Senate Majority Caucus has announced its appointments to the 2019 General Assembly's Interim Task Forces. Senator Max Wise (R-Campbellsville) will serve as a member of the Public Assistance Reform Task Force. The purpose of the group will be to study the potential effectiveness of a work-based, drug-free model for public assistance beneficiaries, to replace the current system of administering Medicare and food stamp benefits. The task force will submit its findings to the General Assembly no later than November 29, 2019. "It is essential that we take a hard look at the effectiveness of our assistance programs in the Commonwealth and determine whether they are properly aiding individuals as they attempt to re-enter the workforce. I look forward to participating in the evaluation efforts of this group, and hopefully we can make the necessary changes that allow Kentuckians to once again be productive members of their community." The first meeting of the task force will take place on Monday, July 8, at 3pmET in Frankfort. Senator Max Wise (R-Campbellsville) represents the 16th District which encompasses Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties.
