TheatreFest! to present Oliver! TheatreFest! the Summer Theatre at Lindsey Wilson College will present the classic musical Oliver! on July 10-14, 2019. Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart's classic musical based on Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist. Oliver! is directed and choreographed by LWC Theatre and TheatreFest! alumnus Brenna Mullennex with musical direction by Associate Artistic Director of TheatreFest! Jeremy Cloyd, and will be performed at 7pmCT July 10-13 and at 2pmCT on July 14, 2019, in V.P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY. For ticket information contact Artistic Director of TheatreFest! Robert Brock at brockr@lindsey.edu or visit www.theatrefest.org. The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver's chances of discovering the true love of a family. This Tony and Olivier Award-winning show is a musical masterpiece that you certainly won't want to miss July 10-14. Be sure to make reservations today by emailing brockr@lindsey.edu or calling 270-384-8044. This story was posted on 2019-06-25 19:47:01
