LWC Women's Track & Field finishes tied for 19th By Christopher Coombs Gulf Shores, AL - The Lindsey Wilson woman's outdoor track and field team scored 15 points across three events on Saturday as the Blue Raiders would record a 19th-place finish at the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships held at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. Safia Bright scored the bulk of the Blue Raiders points during her two events, the 100 and 200-meter dash. In the 100, Bright was able to break the line in third place with a time of 11.74 seconds. Aniekeme Etim of William Carey won the event after racing to a 11.36 time. The Junior from Kumasi, Ghana would then cap off her individual performances in the 200-meter dash where she would again finish in third place. She raced her way to a 23.95 mark in the event as Etim would again take the crown finishing with a time of 23.59 seconds. For the day, Bright scored 12 points for Lindsey Wilson's team total. Alexia DeHaven-Boyd captured the final points for the Blue Raiders with her sixth-place finish in the 400-meter run. DeHaven-Boyd completed the race in 56.25 seconds to earn three points. Southern-New Orleans' Stacy Ann Williams won the event in 52.60 seconds. The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Bright, Annesha Harris, DeHaven-Boyd and Marie Ninamou competed on Saturday but did not score points for the Blue Raiders as they recorded a did not finish mark in the event. Lindsey Wilson completed the championships with 15 team points to finish in a tie for 19th place. British Columbia narrowly edged out Southern-New Orleans for the team title.
