Opal Barger Edwards, 77, Campbellsville, KY (1941-2019)

Opal Barger Edwards of Campbellsville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at her home. She was 77 years old.

The funeral services for Opal Barger Edwards will be conducted at 1pmCT on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Edwards and Kade Fulkerson officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Wednesday until time of the funeral service.


Opal Barger Edwards of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Carlie Barger and Bessie Jones Barger, was born on Saturday, August 12, 1941 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at her home. She was 77 years, 9 months, and 7 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons and a daughter-in-law: Jeff and Cindy Edwards, Todd Edwards, Nathan Edwards all of Greensburg, Rocky Edwards of Campbellsville; four daughters and a son-in-law: Theresa Pruyear of Campbellsville, Tonya Wright, Michele and Timmy Patterson all of Greensburg, and Renea Edwards of Burkesville; two sisters: Betty Nation of Indiana, and Lizzie Starnes of Albany; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ms. Edwards was also preceded in death by a daughter: Terina K. Edwards in October of 1980; three grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Norton Children's Hospital which can be made at the funeral home.
