Solve voting challenges in advance of casting ballot Election day note - if for any reason you have trouble voting, or confusion over any part of the process, ask questions first, before voting. Adair County Board of Elections member Vicky Pike says that so long as you haven't voted, any challenges can be taken up and potentially corrected - before you vote. Once you've cast your vote however, changes cannot be made as it is locked up until voting tallies are counted after the polls close. Poll workers may be able to answer questions on the spot and they are happy to give directions on any part of the voting process. If there are questions they cannot answer, voters may feel free to go to the county clerk's office for answers. She referenced one incident in a prior election where a citizen went to the correct voting place, and started to register only to discover he was listed in the wrong party. He went to the clerks office where the investigation proceeded so that his ability to vote could be protected. This story was posted on 2019-05-20 16:18:01
