LWC Women's Tennis defeats Northwestern Ohio 8-1 By Clayton Barefield Mobile, AL - No. 11-seed Lindsey Wilson women's tennis defeated No. 22-seeded Northwestern Ohio 8-1 today in the NAIA National Tournament First Round at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Blue Raiders (11-5) advance to the second round to face No. 6 seed William Woods (MO) tomorrow at 1pmCT. Lindsey Wilson swept the doubles matches with Steffi McDonald and Lucia Mora picking up an 8-4 victory over Veronica Rydstrom and Lena Tessmer to grab the Blue Raiders their first point. Alexandra Parra and Lina Sachica finished their match with an 8-2 victory over Camila Puente and Gabriela Eva before Carla Alibert and Gabriella Pedroza would close out doubles play with an 8-4 finish over Ellen Sandstrom and Milica Karanovic. Northwestern Ohio (8-15) managed to open singles play with their only point of the day coming from a Blue Raider forfeiture in the sixth-seeded match between Pedroza and Karanovic. LWC dominated the rest of singles play with No. 33-ranked Sachica picking up two 6-0 victories over Ryndstrom for the first singles point. Steffi McDonald defeated Eva in a 6-1 and 6-4 victory. Mora managed to win 6-3 and 6-4 over Tessmer before No. 25 Parra finished the day with a 6-3 and 6-4 win over No. 41 Puente.
