Letter: business with Fletcher Chrysler IS local business

Steve Fletcher wants the public to know that doing business with him IS doing business locally even though his dealership is in Indiana. He says, "I was born and raised here, I own property here. I bank in Columbia, have insurance in Columbia, and I'm a reg'lar at Betty's."

Steve Fletcher, in response to comments on ColumbiaMagazine.com about the bids accepted on the Sheriff's vehicles, states that when the Adair County Fiscal Court accepted the vehicle low bid from his Chrysler dealership, it IS doing business locally and the dollars spent here are banked here.

He said that he was born and raised on Highway 206 in Adair County. He owns a home and several properties both in Columbia and Adair County, and his last property tax bill paid to the Adair County Clerk in Columbia was just under $4,000.

Fletcher said he banks in Columbia, is insured in Columbia, and, he says, "I am a reg'lar at Betty's."

He is a Marine Veteran who served in the Vietnam war in 1968 and 1969.

He started Fletcher Chrysler in Franklin, IN in 1984 and says, "I have done well and I try to spend as much time in Adair County as possible."
