LWC Men's Track and Field finish 2nd at MSC Championships By Clayton Barefield Williamsburg, KY - Lindsey Wilson men's outdoor track and field finish in second-place at the Mid-South Conference Championships held at James H. Taylor, II Stadium. The Blue Raiders earned a total of 215.5 team points on the first day of competition. Cumberlands (Ky.) won the team championship finishing just 4.5 points ahead of LWC with a total of 220 points. Campbellsville (KY) garnered 139 points to finish third for the championship. After the conclusion of the championship, Pierre Ezanno was named MSC Athlete of the year for scoring the most points during the competition. Ezanno scored 28 points to lead the Blue Raiders. Jaylun Wallace was named Freshman of the Year with his performances over the two-day event, scoring a total of 14.5 points. Lindsey Wilson totaled 13 all-conference honors during the two-day event, seven of those were First Team All-MSC honors and six were Second Team All-MSC honors. Kevin Hallmon broke the stadium and conference records during the 200-meter dash final with a time of 20.69 seconds, good for 10 points, a national A-standard, and a First Team All-MSC honor. Holt Keeling earned an A-cut in the 200 as well, finishing with a time of 21.40 seconds. Christian Whitehead and Jaylun Wallace both earn points in the 200. Whitehead finished fifth with a time of 22.14 seconds and four points while Wallace finished seventh for two points with a time of 22.33. Hallmon also individually competed in the 100-meter dash final and finished second with a time of 10.39 seconds for a First Team honor and an A-cut. Keeling earned a B-standard in the same event with a time of 10.70 seconds, finishing fourth. Christian Davis finished sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.08, earning three points. Wallace grabbed the 400-meter dash title with a time of 48.42 seconds for 10 team points. With that performance, Wallace earned First Team honors and a B-cut. Whitehead garnered a Second Team honor with his 48.72-second finish in the 400, earning eight points. Daniel Fakunle closed the event in seventh, scoring two points with a 50.94 effort. Fakunle also competed in the 800-meter event, finishing in sixth with a time of 2:01.69 and earned three points as well. Ezanno took home the 110-meter hurdle crown with a time of 15.78 seconds, earning a First Team All-MSC honor. Ezanno also finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.69 meters earning a national A-standard and a Second Team honor. Michael Redmon competed in the event as well, finishing with a distance of 12.27 meters to place seventh and earned two points. Mason Stogsdill snagged the 5,000-meter race walk title with a time of 33:45.96, earning First Team honors and scored 10 points. Seth Hardwick scored six points, finishing in third with a 34:08.67 effort. Noah Brown scored two points with his fifth-place finish in 35:18.15 minutes. Whitehead finished first in the 400-meter hurdles, scoring 10 points with a time of 55.54 seconds. Hunter Watkins provided six points with his third-place finish in a time of 57.10. Both relay teams on Saturday grabbed First Team honors for winning their respective events. In the 4x100, Keeling, Davis, Hallmon, and Whitehead finished with a time of 40.78 seconds for a national A-standard and 10 team points. For the 4x400 event, Wallace, Whitehead, Fakunle, and Keeling broke the conference record with a time of 3:16.04, scoring 10 points and earning a B-cut. Jim Headrick closed out the 1,500-meter run with a performance of 4:04.89 for a seventh-place finish and scored two points in the process. As for the rest of the field and throwing events, Austin Campbell finished fourth in the discus. Campbell scored five points for his effort of 41.50 meters. Anthony Hampton finished seventh with a distance of 39.07 meters while Cameron Thurman placed eighth with a distance of 38.24 meters. Thurman also participated in the shot put, placing sixth with a distance of 13,66 meters and scored three points. During the high jump, Josiah Kelsey placed sixth with a finish of 1.75 meters for three team points while Samuel Perdue tied for seventh with an effort of 1.70 meters, scoring 1.5 points. Finally, Mishi Easterling placed third in the men's decathlon scoring a total of 4,528 points over the events and earned the team six points.
