By Chris Wells

Owensboro, KY - Top-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis led just once today and at the most important time, beating fourth-seeded Cumberland (TN) 5-4 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals at Owensboro Tennis Complex.

The 14th-ranked Blue Raiders trailed 2-1 after doubles and 3-2 and 4-3 during singles play but rebounded to win to advance to the tournament finals next Saturday in Bowling Green, KY.

While Sachica was evening the match, Mora -- facing Marianela Landi in the third-seeded match -- had her sights set on sending Lindsey Wilson to the championship.

After splitting the first two sets and the first six games of the third set, Mora took a page from Sachica's playbook and sprinted through the finish line. At 3-3 in the third, Mora inched in front holding serve for a 4-3 lead. She fought off a pair of game points to ultimately break Landi's service to take a 5-3 advantage.

Mora closed out the team win on her second match point as Landi's shot sailed long to give Lindsey Wilson the comeback win. Mora has won a team-high 11 singles matches this season in 13 tries.

Cumberland seized control of the match winning the top two doubles matches.

Seventh-ranked Ainhoa Garijo Garrido and Jessica Hernandez sprinted past 18th ranked Sachica and Alexandra Parra 8-4 for the 2-0 advantage.
