LWC Men's Tennis sweeps Campbellsville in ranked battle By Chris Wells Lindsey Wilson men's tennis did not drop a set today in a 9-0 win over Campbellsville (KY) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex. The No. 8-ranked Blue Raiders won their third straight match to improve to 3-2 on the season, including 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland (TN) -- who has not played a conference match this season -- are the lone unbeaten teams remaining in the conference. No. 11 Campbellsville falls to 11-2 and 2-1 in the MSC. Lindsey Wilson jumped out to a 3-0 lead following doubles play. The Blue Raiders dropped just four games in the three matches, including winning 8-0 in the first and third-seeded matches. Camilo Erazo and Tiago Almeida grabbed the first point of the day in the top-seeded doubles match with an 8-0 win over Will True and Cesar Castro. Javier Raya and Nicolas Garcia matched their teammates score with a win over Hercilio Cabieses and Alberto Perez in the third-seeded match. Xavier Vicent and Santiago Diaz made it a clean sweep in the doubles with an 8-4 win over Cristian Perez and Matus Sevcik. Almeida claimed the first singles win in dominant fashion in the second-seeded match. He beat Cristian Perez 6-1, 6-1 to extend the Lindsey Wilson lead to 4-0. Erazo -- ranked No. 23 in the NAIA -- captured the decisive point with a 6-3, 6-3 win over 40th-ranked True in the top-seeded match. Vicent, Garcia, Raya and Steven Espinoza all won their matches in straight sets to complete the win. Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2pmCT on Thursday, as the Blue Raiders host Georgetown (KY) at Baughman Tennis Complex, 401 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.
