State's winningest basketball coach retires By Kal Oakes, Georgetown News-Graphic The coach who elevated Scott County High School boys' basketball to a place among the elite programs in the nation, and won more games than anyone in 100-plus years of Kentucky hoops in the process, is officially retired. Nine days after indicating that Scott County's loss to Louisville Trinity in the KHSAA state championship was more than likely his final game, Billy Hicks confirmed those intentions to school administration on Tuesday. "It wasn't like it was a decision I made just now," Hicks said in an exclusive interview Wednesday with the News-Graphic. "You have certain red flags out there that you know when it's time."
