Lindsey Wilson softball is back in action on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 against Bryan (TN) at 3pmCT at The Bryan College Softball Field, 721 Bryan Drive, Dayton TN.

GAME 1: LWC 1, REINHARDT 0

Strong pitching performances on both teams provided a low scoring and low hitting game. Lindsey Wilson provided the only run needed to win in the first inning of action.

Callum Pilgrim led off for the Blue Raiders, driving a deep ball to right field, which was misplayed by the Eagles for a Lindsey Wilson advantage early on in the game. After a groundout by the next batter, Jaydee Boursaw drove in the winning run for the Blue Raiders off a single to left center field.

The Eagles threatened the Blue Raiders lead throughout the matchup, putting runners on in the first, fourth and sixth innings, but ultimately could not capitalize on opportunities.

Hannah Epperson earned her fifth win of the season going seven innings, striking out six batters and allowing only three hits. Ansley Byers for the Eagles suffered the loss pitching seven innings allowing three hits and a run while striking out six Blue Raiders.

Boursaw led the Lindsey Wilson going 1-of-3 in game one with a single and the game-winning RBI.

GAME 2: LWC 8, REINHARDT 2

Strong hitting performances by Lindsey Wilson proved to be the Eagles downfall throughout game two.

In the first inning, Callum Pilgrim led off with a solo-homerun off the first pitch to deep center field to give the Blue Raiders an early lead. Reinhardt threatened that lead in the bottom of the first after the Blue Raiders allowed for three free bases from two hit batters and a walk. Annabelle Ramirez fought back against the Eagles offense, striking out the next two batters to end the inning.

Lindsey Wilson extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning after a Samantha Luckett double to put a runner in scoring position. Lauren Lett drove an infield single allowing Luckett to advance to third on the batted ball. Desiree Chang drove in the run for the Blue Raiders off a fielder's choice.

The Blue Raiders strong offense took over again in the fourth inning driving in four additional runs. Makea Al Kaluau kicked it off for Lindsey Wilson hitting a deep double to center field. Luckett provided an additional base runner for the Blue Raiders after being walked by Reinhardt.

At top of the order for Lindsey Wilson, Pilgrim drove in her second home run of the game for a three-run shot to left field on a 1-1 count. Cassie Matlock then reached base off a bobbled play by the Eagles allowing Matlock to reach second. Boursaw drove another Blue Raider RBI in to cap off the inning extending Lindsey Wilsons lead to 6-0.

Lindsey Wilson tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth to extend their lead 8-0 off a Kaluau solo home run to deep center field and a Pilgrim single to drive in a runner from third.

Reinhardt pushed back in the bottom of the fifth inning. After quickly taking two outs, Madison Gianfala for the Eagles kicked off the offense with a shallow single in the outfield. The Blue Raiders walked the next two batters for Reinhardt to load the bases. Sarah Kate Jenkins drove in the two runs for the Eagles off a single to left-center field.

Lindsey Wilson pitching squashed any more opportunities for the Reinhardt. Annabelle Ramirez picked up her fourth win of the year in five innings pitched with six strikeouts, while allowing her first runs of the year. Taylor Slade came in for relief for Ramirez going two innings pitched and striking out a pair of batters.

Callum Pilgrim led the offense going 3-of-5 with five RBI's and two home runs against the Eagles.
