Women's Outdoor track and field finishes 6th at Margaret Simmons Invitational

Murray, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team finished sixth at the Margaret Simmons Invitational hosted by Murray State (KY).

The Blue Raiders accrued 57 team points to earn a sixth place with two first-place finishes. Murray State (KY) took first with 319 points, while Centre (KY) earned second place with 77 points. Tennessee- Martin garnered third place finish with 71 team points.


In the 200-meter dash, Alexia DeHaven Boyd finished in 25.95 to earn a second place finish. Marie Nonamou finished in eighth place with a time of 27.93.

Dehaven-Boyd added a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.96. Meredith Johnson added with a fifth-place finish in 1:06.15, while Jahalia McNealy finished in 11th after crossing the finish line in 1:09.01.

In the 800 meter run, Dezare Jackson earned 12th place, finishing in 2:41.41, while Elsa Diaz paced with a 14th place finish in 2:44.34.

During the 4x800 relay, Johnson, Jackson, Diaz and Kirsten Crepps garnered a second place finish after powering their way to a 10:53.06.

In Women's discus, Paige Pettell earned a first-place finish with a throw of 38.85 meters. De'jah Smith added with a second place finish hurling the disc in 37.72 meters. Brianna Laws added with a ninth-place finish with a 31.0-meter throw.

Pattell added a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a 45.12-meter throw. Smith added with a throw of 34.55-meters earning 15th place.

Smith added a 10th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 9.72 meters.

The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team is back in action on Friday-Saturday March 22-23 at the Black-Gold Invite in Nashville, Tennessee.
