LWC Women's Basketball faces Bethel in NAIA 1st Round By Clayton Barefield The fifth-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team opens its 2019 NAIA National Championship run against fourth-seeded Bethel (TN) on Wednesday at 9:30amCT at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark, 308 6th Ave N, Billings, MT. The Blue Raiders are making their 14th appearance in the national tournament. Lindsey Wilson owns an 8-13 all-time record in the national tournament. Lindsey Wilson (22-10) fell to Campbellsville (Ky.) 81-59 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals on March 3. The Blue Raiders rank seventh in the NAIA in offensive rebounds per game (16.2) and 11th in both total blocks (124) and total rebounding margin (7.9). Reagan Turner ranks third nationally in total scoring (657) as well as fifth in points per game (20.5). Heidi Huffman also ranks in the top-10 nationally with a fourth-place ranking in total three-point field goals made (97), along with ranking sixth in three-point field goals per game (3.0) Gerda Paulauskaite ranks seventh in total blocks (77) and blocks per game (2.5). The Wildcats (28-5) fell to Loyola (La.) in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game 73-65. Bethel ranks in the top-five in four categories. The Wildcats are first in the NAIA in total three-pointers made (301), first in total rebounding margin (12.97), second in three-point field goals per game (9.1), and third in total rebounding offense (1487). Myah Taylor ranks first in both three-point field goals per game (3.7) and total three-pointers made (121). Taylor also ranks second in total scoring (742) as well as third in points per game (22.5). Wednesday's matchup against Bethel will mark the 14th meeting between the two programs. The Wildcats lead the series 8-5.
