By Calen McKinney

Campbellsville Elementary School students are celebrating Dr. Seuss in a week full of several special events.

Read Across America events began on Monday, March 4, and will end Friday, March 8. Students can participate in dress-up days geared toward Seuss's books.

Monday was No, I'm Not Getting Up Today. Students wore their pajamas.

Tuesday was Fox in Socks Day. Students wore crazy socks.

Wednesday, students dressed for Wacky Wednesday. Students can wear their wackiest clothing.

Thursday was Oh, the Places You'll Go Day. Students can dress for the college they will attend or their future career.

Friday, students dressed for Favorite Dr. Seuss Day. Students can dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters.

Students are participating in a hat decorating contest. All entries will be displayed in the front lobby.

CES teachers will compete in a Dr. Seuss classroom door decorating contest. Photos of the doors are posted on social media, and votes will be counted to name a winner.

CES hosted a Dr. Seuss Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 5.

There were book readings, a photo booth, refreshments, games and more.

Read Across America is an annual reading awareness program that motivates students to read. Activities are hosted each year around March 2, which was Dr. Seuss's birthday.
