ACES Academic Team Competes in Regional Governor's Cup

Adair County Elementary School (ACES) Academic Team competed in the Region 14 Governor's Cup on Monday, February 25, 2019 (FPS and Written Composition) and Saturday, March 2, 2019 (Written Assessments) at Jamestown Elementary School in Jamestown, KY.

ACES did not disappoint in their efforts, as they brought home several medals and awards from the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, including 4th Overall Region out of eleven schools. Group and individual awards include:


Future Problem Solving (FPS) -2nd Place
FPS members:
  • Natalea Kaylor (4th Grade)
  • Abbie Kemp (5th Grade)
  • Hannah Kotter (4th Grade)
  • Harley Polk (4th Grade)
FPS is coached by Mrs. Jeana Pike

Individual Award in Written Composition:
  • Abbie Kemp (5th Grade) 5th Place

Individual Awards in Written Assessments:
  • Kinzlee Akin (5th Grade) 4th Place Language Arts
  • Callie Compton (4th Grade) 3rd Place Arts & Humanities
  • Jay Whalen (5th Grade) 2nd Place Social Studies
Written Composition and Assessments are coached by Mrs. Lisa Newell-Hare
