Bright advances to two finals at Indoor Track & Field Championships

Brookings, SD - The Lindsey Wilson Women's Indoor Track & Field team closed out the first day of competition on Friday at the 2019 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Safia Bright advanced to two finals on Saturday in the 60-meter and 200-meter events. Bright claimed the top spot in the 60 with a prelim time of 7.53, qualifying her for a finals appearance. She also placed fourth in the 200-meter with a prelim time of 24.62 seconds, good for another appearance in Saturday's finals.


The women's 60-meter finals are scheduled for 1:50pmCT while the 200-meter is scheduled for 3:15pmCT.

Annesha Harris also competed on Friday in the women's long jump. Harris finished the finals with a distance of 5.43 for a 14th-place finish.

Paige Pettell and Oreatha Hurt are set to compete on Saturday. Pettell is will compete for the women's shot put while Hurt is ready to compete in the women's triple jump.

The third and final day of the 2019 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship begins at 10amCT on Saturday.
