Columbia Writer Will Appear In Two National Magazines

This article first appeared in issue 20, and was written by Pen Waggener.

Adair County native Christopher Rowe is scheduled to have stories published in upcoming issues of two national magazines.

The first story, "Kin to Crows," is set in mythical Cane County, Kentucky, in the time between the Civil War and World War II. It appears in the new issue of "Realms of Fantasy," available on newsstands as we speak. The magazine is available at most Waldenbooks and Barnes and Noble outlets, as well as regional booksellers Hawley-Cooke and Joseph Beth. With a circulation of over 60,000, "Realms of Fantasy" is one of the most widely read fiction magazines in the world.

Another story featuring Christopher's Cane County characters, this one set in present day Bowling Green, is scheduled to appear in the premier issue of a new Georgia magazine in September.

In addition, Christopher has begun work on a first novel, inspired by the building of the Corps of Engineers lakes throughout South Central Kentucky and the history of the Coe Ridge community in Cumberland County.

Christopher is a 1987 graduate of Adair County High School, and currently lives in Louisville with his wife Julia, a painter. He is the son of Billy and Hannah Rowe of Columbia and Rita and Joe Yates of Springfield, Kentucky, and the grandson of Faye Rowe and the late Nathan Rowe of Columbia and of Stanley and Beulah Rich of Barnett's Creek.
