LWC Women's Basketball Faces Life Saturday for Senior Day By Clayton Barefield The No. 19-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team is set to wrap up the 2018-19 regular season on Saturday as they take on Life (GA) at 2pmCT from Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. Saturday's matchup will serve as Senior Day for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson will honor Teanna Curry, Heidi Huffman, Gerda Paulauskaite, and Dakota Smith prior to tip-off. The Blue Raiders (21-8, 9-4 in the Mid-South Conference) return to Columbia after defeating Cumberlands (Ky.) 67-51 in Williamsburg on Thursday night. Lindsey Wilson has outscored opponents this season by a margin of 10.8 points per game while averaging just over 71 points per contest. The Blue Raiders are shooting for nearly 40 percent from the field. LWC also shoots for 31 percent from behind the arc. Reagan Turner leads the offensive efforts this season, averaging 20.3 points per contest while shooting for 46 percent. Turner has scored a total of 589 points this season which places her fourth in NAIA Division I. Turner ranks sixth for her points per game average as well. Huffman joins Turner in the national ranks for her deep-range shooting from beyond the arc. Huffman ranks fifth in total three-point field goals made (88) while also ranking eighth in threes made per game (3). Lindsey Wilson ranks seventh in NAIA Division I in offensive rebounds per game with an average of 16.2 rebounds. LWC also ranks ninth in total offensive rebounds (1250). The Blue Raiders average 43.1 rebounds per game, outrebounding opponents by a margin of 8.2 rebounds per game. Life (17-10, 5-8 MSC) returns to court after defeating Cumberland (Tenn.) 85-60 at home on Thursday. The Running Eagles average 76.4 points per contest while shooting for 40.1 percent from the field. Life ranks first nationally in steals per game averaging 15.9 steals while also ranking fifth nationally in total steals (398). Individually, Maeisha Teasley ranks second in steals per game (4.5) as well as third in total steals (113). Saturday's matchup is the eighth meeting between the two squads.
