Marvin Lester Spoon, 70, Columbia, KY (1948-2019) Mr. Spoon was a member of the Old Concord United Methodist Church and retired from IMO Pump in Columbia. Marvin Lester Spoon of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his residence. He was 70 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11amCT on Friday, February 22, 2019, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation is requested after 4pmCT on Thursday at the funeral home. Born in Fairplay, KY on August 2, 1948, he was the son of the late Garvin and Thelma Smith Spoon. Mr. Spoon was a member of the Old Concord United Methodist Church and retired from IMO Pump in Columbia. Lester was a lifetime member of the Hill & Valley Saddle club, an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include his wife Julita Andrew Spoon of Columbia; two daughters Angie Feese (Bryan) of Columbia and Leslie Dorman (Kelly) of Richmond, KY; four grandchildren Dylan Feese, Colton Feese, Cody Dorman and Kylie Dorman; five siblings Arlene Corbin, Amon Spoon (Judy) and Alterine Hadley (Clifton) all of Columbia, Bernadine Judd of Lawrenceville, GA and Geneva Sok (Mark) of Lexington, KY; a sister-in-law Bonnie Spoon of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Alvin Spoon and his father and mother-in-law Carnell & Christine Andrew. Bro. Pat Smith and Bro. Elbert Hadley will be officiating and pallbearers will be Mr. Spoon's nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation Kentucky, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Old Concord United Methodist Church.
