LWC runner-up at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Track & Field By Clayton Barefield BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lindsey Wilson finished runner-up at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Monday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Lindsey Wilson scored 160 team points to finish behind Cumberlands' (Ky.) 185 points. Cumberland (Tenn.) finished third with 130 team points. The Blue Raiders snagged first-place finishes in one team event as well as four individual titles. Eight Blue Raiders earned all-conference honors for their efforts. All athletes that won their respective event earned first-team honors while those who finished runner-up earned second-team honors. Due to the conference participating as part of the Birmingham Southern Invite, all-conference honors were awarded in some events based on their finishes in preliminary races. As a team, the Blue Raiders finished on top during the 4x400-meter relay with a time of three minutes and 33:23 seconds. The quartet of Caleb Watson, Holt Keeling, Christian Whitehead, and Kevin Hallmon broke the tape while earning a B-Cut Standard into next month's national championships. Goaboane Mosheleketi and Hallmon both managed two first-place individual finishes in their respective events, earning national A cuts. Mosheleketi finished first in the long jump with a distance of 7.32 meters, while taking the triple jump top-spot with a distance of 14.65 meters. Hallmon finished on top in the 60-meter dash as well as the 200-meter dash. In the 60, Hallmon finished with a time of 6.84 seconds for, while finishing the 200 with a time of 21.17 seconds. Mishi Easterling managed a second-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 7.02 meter for a B-Cut Standard. Landon Saum finished the 60-meter hurdles in second-place with a time of 8.79 seconds. Keeling placed third in the 200-meter with an A-Cut Standard time of 22.04 seconds. Whitehead finished fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 49.67 seconds, good for a B-Cut Standard. Easterling earned second-team honor for the long jump while Anthony Hampton received a second-team honor in the weight throw. Six Blue Raiders finished the day with first-team all-conference honors while two were able to snag second-team honors.
