Letter: applauds USPS for staying competitive Mark Hale writes: Finally, after decades of raising the rate by a penny or two only to do it again a year or two later, the USPS has finally figured out to raise it a whole nickel. Whatever will we do as they dig so deep into our pockets? I don't know if I can afford a whole nickel. It's about time they do this. Now common sense would tell us that another increase will not be necessary for a few years now. When that time comes make it another nickel or even a dime.
