Teddy Stephens, 92, Russell County, KY (1926-2019)

Teddy was a millwright and a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Julian Amon "Teddy" Stephens, 92, of Russell Springs, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.

Funeral services will be 10amCT Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Roger Garner officiating. Burial will be in the Parks Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8pmCT Monday and after 8amCT Tuesday until funeral time at 10amCT.


He was born October 17, 1926 in Russell County to the late Urias & Ora C. Stephens.

Teddy was a millwright and a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Stephens; 2 grandsons, Jason Garner, Zachary Stephens; 4 siblings, Vercena Hadley, Janice Helms, Urias "Jr" Stephens, Geneva Shearer.

Survivors include
  • His wife, Betty Stephens, Russell Springs
  • 6 children: Danny Lee (Susan) Stephens, Russell Springs, Betty Jo Cordell, Burnside, Randy (Donna) Stephens, Russell Springs, Barry (Tracy) Stephens, Russell Springs, Boris (Tammy) Stephens, Russell Springs, Jerry (Jewell) Stephens, Russell Springs
  • 7 grandchildren - 6 great grandchildren
  • 1 step daughter - Kim (Ronnie) McFall, Jamestown
  • 1 step son - Todd (Jeannine) Jasper, Russell Springs
  • 3 brothers - John Edward "Dude" (Glenna) Stephens, David Dale Stephens, Bobby (Martha) Stephens
Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
