You can help ACPC students by watching their video

by Laura Marcum

Students from the Adair County Primary Center's STLP wanted to make an impact in their world. They have created and produced a video about internet safety entitled "Technology is Everywhere: Let's Be Safe." The video is about 10 minutes long. The students want their video to be seen and shared.

When you watch the video, please leave us a comment and tell us where you are from either through email (laura.marcum@adair.kyschools.us) or on the video's YouTube page.

In the video they talk about how "Technology is powerful, which means we need to be responsible."

In a world where it seems like everyone from kids to adults have internet connected devices we need reminders like this. Our school will documenting on a map different places that people live who watch the video.

The students planned, researched, scripted, recorded, and edited this video. They even met at school on a few Saturdays to record without interruptions. In the video students talk about the internet, how internet filters work, protecting your identity online, social media, cyber bullying, and top tips for internet safety.

The video was meant to be shared so send it on to anyone you think might be interested. It is important that people indicate where they are from when leaving a comment. So far our video has only been on YouTube for less than a week and we have received comments from both individuals and schools from 7 different states and 5 countries.
