The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team lost 84-75 to Campbellsville University on Saturday afternoon during the Battle of Highway 55 at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders continue MSC play on Thursday when they travel to Pikeville (KY) to take on the Bears at 7pmCT.

JR Adams had a career-high 28 points after connecting on 10-of-18 attempts from the floor and 5-of-11 shots from beyond the arc. Shakaris Laney chipped in tallying 19 points as Matthew Eldridge was the only other Blue Raider in double figures with 13. Pierre Lys and Shakaris Laney finished the game with a team-high six rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson (12-12, 3-6 MSC) and Campbellsville (18-6, 4-5 MSC) opened the contest to an even 10-10 score after six minutes of play. The Blue Raiders were efficient from deep, connected on two-of-three attempts after Kel Stotts and Eldridge found their stroke from three.

Campbellsville would manage to take a four-point lead moments later but a 10-5 LWC run gave the lead back to the Blue Raiders at 22-21 with 9:21 to play. A 9-0 scoring spurt by the Tigers over the next three minutes pushed CU to their largest lead of the half at 30-22.

Six straight points spread amongst Can Oztamur, Adams and Lys would put LWC behind the Tiger by just two points with four minutes to play in the half. But the Tigers outscored Lindsey Wilson 5-2 over the final minutes to take a 35-30 advantage at the break.

The Blue Raiders finished the half shooting 37.5 percent from the floor as Campbellsville would connect on 15-of-30 of their attempts from the field. Both squads managed 16 of their points in the paint as the Tigers would record a slight 18-17 rebounding advantage.

Lindsey Wilson quickly tied the game after scoring on their first two possession of the second half when Adams opened with a three and Laney drove hard to the basket scoring two. Campbellsville would push their lead back to four before a 5-0 run by LWC gave the Blue Raiders their first lead at 40-39 since the 10-minute mark of the first half.

With the game once again tied, this time a 46 with 14:13 on the clock, Campbellsville produced an 8-2 run. Adam's would score five straight LWC points to trim the CU advantage down to three with just over 12 minutes to play.

The Tigers increased their lead to 62-55 but Adams would again answer for Lindsey Wilson scoring four straight points for the Blue Raiders to trim the Campbellsville lead back to three with seven minutes left in regulation.

Campbellsville took control of the game, building their lead to as many as 13 points over the next four minutes. Lindsey Wilson would cut the CU lead to as few as seven twice during the final minute of play before ultimately falling by a final score of 84-75.

The Tigers Stephaun Adams finished one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing the game with 20 points and nine rebounds.
