LWC Men's Basketball falls to Georgetown 104-91 By Christopher Coombs The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell 104-91 to Georgetown (KY) in Mid-South Conference action at Biggers Sports Center on Thursday night. The Blue Raiders next welcome Campbellsville University to Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY on Saturday at 4pmCT in the Battle of Highway 55. Five different Blue Raiders finished the game in double figures as JR Adams paced Lindsey Wilson with 19 points and five rebounds. Kel Stotts added 18 points and a game-high three steals. Mathew Eldridge and Payton Cundiff each managed 17 points while Shakaris Laney chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds. After trading baskets to a 10-8 Lindsey Wilson advantage, Georgetown produced a 15-3 run to giving them a 23-13 lead with 11:57 to play in the half. Lindsey Wilson managed to claw their way back over the next 2:10 as Stotts caught fire scoring seven straight LWC points and a Can Oztamur layup cut the Tiger lead to just one at 23-22. Moments later a three by Adams would tie the game at 25, but that was as close as the Blue Raiders would get to regaining a lead. Georgetown closed out the half on a 28-13 run to take a 14 point lead into halftime. Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown traded baskets to the 13:42 mark of the second half as the Tigers maintained their 14 point lead at 68-54. But a 10-3 run by the Tigers would increase their lead to 21 with just over ten minutes to play. The Blue Raiders clawed their way back to trail by just ten points over the next 2:20 of action. Cundiff managed to score eight straight Lindsey Wilson points. He did so on back-to-back three's and a layup but Georgetown matched his effort to keep their 10 point lead. Georgetown would push their lead to 16 points before the Blue Raiders made one last effort to trail by just seven with 1:26 to play.
